“A work of art is created because there is basic sacredness, independent of the artist’s particular religious faith or trust. Sacredness from that point of view is the discovery of goodness, which is independent of personal, social, or physical restrictions.”
Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche
The Spring Equinox has been designated, by the Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, as “Shambhala Art Day”. This year’s celebrations of the contemplative arts will ideally be held on Saturday, March 21st (and/or around that weekend). Over its past few years of existence, the Shambhala Arts Festival showed itself to be a great vehicule for spreading wisdom into the world, through the arts.
We are well into the excitement of planning the different shows for the next festival. All are warmly invited to participate in their area to this special celebration that is unique within our international network & umbrella for the arts. The festivities may be as long or short as you wish !
Please, let me know about your creative process toward the events, your publicities/schedules of the day and your wishes during the process of that International Day of celebration. If you have pictures or dvd from past events that you wish to share & add for “International Clips”, thank you for letting me know.
All updates will be published in the International report and in the Shambhala Times.
Keep posted, there’s more to come!
