The Great River of Blessings

The Great River of Blessings – An eBook Available Through The Sakyong Foundation

The Sakyong Foundation is pleased to announce it is hosting The Great River Of Blessings a new downloadable book by Walker Blaine. This book is an account of the Rinchen Terdzo that was conferred by His Eminence Namkha Drimed Rinpoche on the Kongma Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche in the winter of 2008-2009. The Rinchen Terdzo is a three month long presentation of some of the most vital practices and instructions held by the Nyingma lineage. Namkha Drimed Rinpoche received the Rinchen Terdzo directly from Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche.

The book is free. Walker suggested that readers consider making a contribution to The Sakyong Foundation’s humanitarian work in Asia. Right now that effort is concentrated on road building in Chandragiri district, the heart of the Tibetan community in Orissa, India. Modern roads and drainage in the Tibetan camps in this area will greatly reduce malaria risk during the monsoon season. This will be of benefit to everyone in the region.

The Great River Of Blessings is lively and informative. Its 268 pages are filled with pictures and stories about the events in India, the history of the Rinchen Terdzo, its relationship with Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, and much more. The book concludes with supplementary essays on the connections between Shambhala Buddhism, the terma tradition, and creating enlightened society. The Great River Of Blessings also gives a basic overview of the Nyingma lineage in the context of Tibetan culture and of Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche’s life when he is in Asia.

Please visit the webpage for The Great River Of Blessings and enjoy this wonderful new book.

In conjunction with the release of The Great River of Blessings, the Shambhala Times is featuring a collection of articles on terma.
