The Mindful Manifesto

Two members of the London Shambhala Center, Ed Halliwell and Dr. Jonty Heaversedge, are working to bring mindfulness into the lives of busy people in their new book, The Mindfulness Manifesto.

Ed Halliwell is a writer, mindfulness consultant and coach. He is the author of the Mental Health Foundation’s Mindfulness Report (2010), and writes regularly for the Guardian on meditation, Buddhism, and well-being. His journalism has also featured in the Times, the Observer, and the Independent on Sunday, as well as many magazines. He is an authorised meditation instructor, and has taught mindfulness to a range of individuals and organisations. If you are interested in working with Ed, please contact us. Dr Jonty Heaversedge is an inner city GP in a large practice in South East London. Jonty completed a degree in psychology and then a Masters in Mental Health Studies whilst at Medical School, and continues to pursue a particular interest in the psychological health and wellbeing of his patients. Jonty has also become an increasingly familiar face on the BBC, having presented three series of ‘Street Doctor’ for BBC1 and a series for CBBC called ‘The Smokehouse’ – working with children to help their parents quit smoking. He also presented ‘Lifegivers’ on BBC1 with Nadia Sawalha, a series aimed at raising awareness of the issues around organ donation in the UK. Jonty is a regular contributor to BBC news – both TV and radio. Watch video of Jonty talking about mindfulness in medicine below:

    Wow, gentlemen, you have come so far from when I met you both many years ago at Dechen Choling. I am so inspired and impressed by how you are bringing Shambhala Vision into the world through your skill sets. You are both totally amazing.
