Reb Zalman (Zalman M. Schachter-Shalomi) passed away last night, July 3, at his home at the age of 89.
He was a shining light of compassion and is considered one of the major founders of the Jewish Renewal movement. He held the World Wisdom Chair at Naropa University and was Professor Emeritus at both Naropa and Temple University.
Reb Zalman and Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche made a strong connection at a Naropa University interreligious dialogue for the public. He will be deeply missed. To read more of his life’s work please visit this link here.
