Featured StoriesSecond Annual Shambhala Day Poetry Contest Winner
We are delighted to share the winning poem from this year’s Shambhala Day Poetry Contest. This year’s theme was “Lineage” in honor of 2015 being the 20th anniversary of the Sakyong’s enthronement.
The winning poem this year was written by Walker Blaine from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Walker is Master of Liturgies to Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche and has been a member of the Shambhala community since 1984. He lives with his wife Patricia “down the street from the Halifax Shambhala Centre”…
With gratitude, this year’s winning Lineage poem…
On a crisp, clear night with no moon,
I asked the stars to bring goodness and love back into the world.
Then, they fell into my heart in a shower of blissful light.
The next night the moon was a sliver,
And we talked again, saying, “Let us do this together.”
