Shambhala News ServiceOutpouring of Generosity
Our community was so generous on Shambhala Day that we exceeded the quarter of a million dollar target for gifts.
With almost all centres and groups in North America reporting, one-time donations currently total $287,518. There was also was an increase in recurring monthly donations to make an annual total of an additional $27,930.
Added together, these amount to a grand total of $315,448. More donations are still coming in.
It is by far the greatest outpouring of generosity recorded on a Shambhala Day in recent times.
Results for Europe and other regions are still being collected.
The Kalapa Council will be reporting next week on immediate steps to kick-start the increased services that this generosity will fund, and the discussions it wants to have with centres and groups on how best to support them.
