Getting IT: Center Websites

This snippet of information might answer some questions you’ve had about why Shambhala websites all look basically alike…

People who aren’t involved in the administration of their local center may not know this important fact: throughout Shambhala, local centers use two tools to create their websites, either the European API written by Bernard Spigolo or the website template, written by Cameron and Deryk Wenaus at Blue Mandala.

These are both tools that help centers put a website together and help that website connect to the Shambhala Database so that program information can get to the pages on the website, and registrations entered into the websites can get to the Shambhala Database.

Excellent question! I’d recommend getting in touch with the folks mentioned in the article – either Cam or Bernard could help you answer those questions. You can find them on the Shambhala Network.
    Cheers!

  2. Thanks for the explanation.
I always thought there was only one system. This reads as if there were two…
What is the difference between the two and are centres free to choose?
