Sakyong and Family, Shambhala News ServiceMessage from the Sakyong regarding fire at SMC
To the Shambhala Community,
The Sakyong Wangmo and I have been staying informed of the situation at Shambhala Mountain Center. We began practicing as soon as we heard of the dangers and have received many supplications from students to hold Shambhala Mountain Center in our prayers.
Shambhala Mountain Center is a special place, infused with the blessings of our lineage and we are deeply saddened by the losses that we’ve heard about. At this poignant time, we are holding the well-being of Shambhala Mountain Center in our hearts and in our practice.
With a tender heart,
The Sakyong

That is wonderful!, fearless one!
Any soothing words on the loss of our historic Marpa House in Boulder?
Thank you, your Majesty!

It’s been trying times through this pandemic. But I must say the dharma has truly been a blessing for most of us. Your teachings have truly helped me keep sane ! Thankyou Rinpoche for always thinking of us !

I don’t see the things that are written below. The whole message looks terribly anodyne and detached to me. It reads as if the Sakyong has just resigned himself to not having his main programme center and has mentally checked out of Shambhala.

Thank you Rinpoche for your generosity, and your equanimity. When many of us are struggling with the losses on the land, we also struggle with the decision by the leadership of SMC to cut off from you and the Sakyong Lineage. This fire brings up many conflicting emotions for us and you show us through your equanimity how to relate with our own experience.
We are all so grateful for the blessings we received from you there. But then, there is Impermanence, a dark age, and an environmental crisis that brings these fires.
