Boulder Photographer Offers Sakyong Wangmo Photos

By Benjamin Buren

I was honored to be present at the Enthronement Celebration for the Sakyong Wangmo.  I have compiled a beautiful slideshow of the event (with music by Tibetan flautist Ngawang Khechog), as well as made over 200 pictures available for viewing and purchase.  All profits from the sale of prints or digital images will be donated to the Boulder Shambhala Community.

The slideshow will be available online until June 30, 2009, and the purchase discount code “sakyong” is available until May 1st.

I have pursued photography for the past twenty years, and in the last ten have made it my full-time career and passion.  Capturing the myriad of emotions and the dynamic flow of people interacting in their lives defines Alive Photography.  A moment in time, frozen into a million bits of information, processed through complex mechanical systems, and displayed as artwork.  How intriguing!  The challenge is to create an entirely different experience based on the original moment and yet remain true to the original inspiration.

Recently I have found the teachings in Shambhala Training Level I and II to be amazingly helpful not only to the pursuit of my photography, but to life in general.  Slowing down to see things has brought me back to the core of my passion for photography.
