Video, Audio, PhotosVideo Offering: Basic Goodness and Harmony
As Shambhala Centers around the world conduct a day of practice and related activities to commemorate the Parinirvana, or the passing into Nirvana, of the Vidyadhara the Venerable Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, each year on April 4th the Shambhala Archives has provided centers with a short DVD to be played on the Parinirvana, featuring an aspect of Trungpa Rinpoche’s Buddhist or Shambhala teachings. This year, for the first time, the Archives is pleased to be making a digital file of the featured talk available through the internet; a ten minute clip by the Vidyadhara, titled Basic Goodness and Harmony, from Talk Four of the Visual Dharma Seminar held in Boulder, July 1978. The Archives will also have this talk available on its website April 4, so that individuals anywhere can view it.
The complete seminar, which shows how the Shambhala principles are applicable to art and awareness in everyday life, will soon be released as a new DVD series. Previously available on VHS Video, the newly re-mastered and re-edited series has improved sound and image quality, while respecting the original presentation. Shambhala Media would like to thank Mr. Jack Niland for his devotion and diligence in creating the original edited series. We would also like to thank the original crew who created these talks: Nick Espeset, James Hoagland, Ed Roth, Marv Ross, Stefan Carmien, Wendy Nelson and Sarah Kapp. A syllabus for presenting the material is also part of the DVD series. Watch for the new series on the Shambhala Media website later this spring.
