The Sakyong and Sakyong Wangmo have selected these photos from Jetsun Drukmo’s first birthday party, held at the Kalapa Court last month, to share with the community. Family, friends, and those closely involved with the birth celebrated in the great room of the newly remodelled Halifax Kalapa Court with live music, cake, toasts, songs and much joy. Jetsun Drukmo enjoyed the many gifts, including a Cheerful Birthday calligraphy from her father, a Tara thangka from her uncle, Lunpa Tulku, and a specially commissioned Rigden statue from aunt and uncle Semo Palmo and Alan Goldstein. Many stayed up past their usual bedtimes with delight!

I like the polka dot balloons. I also like the pink “Happy 1st Birthday” balloon. It gives me an idea for a first birthday t-shirt design. Thanks for sharing this!

Thank you for sharing this very special event with us all. Even from Jetsun Drukmo’s pictures she appears very AWAKE taking in each moment. She is truly a gift and we all love seeing The Sakyong with his baby girl! Only one word keeps coming up: PRECIOUS!
