First Filmed Trungpa XII Interview

Chokyi Senge Trungpa XII Rinpoche of Surmang Dutsi Til has given his first filmed interview. The 21-year old tulku was interviewed by Lyndon Comstock and Jon Ransohoff of the Konchok Foundation, who recently visited Surmang where Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, the eleventh Trungpa tulku, was the supreme abbot. In a recent appeal, sent to every member of Shambhala worldwide, we included a photo taken on the first day of school at the new Surmang shedra. It showed exuberant young monastics and over 70 local girls and boys who are starting their education there. The building is in now in use even though it is not fully completed. A further $150,000 is needed this year to prepare the shedra for consecration and to help sustain the educational program for children.

Many people have written in to express their amazement at seeing the photo: “This feels like an answer to one’s prayers,” read one of the many messages.

“I am in tears looking at this beautiful photo!” read another message. “Thank you so much for sharing this good news with us! It is so moving to see how our generosity can make a difference in the lives of so many, and it inspires me to give more.”
