Monday, August 11th was the occasion for a lively children’s party at the Kalapa Court in Halifax celebrating the fourth birthday of Princess Jetsun Drukmo. Under a brilliant blue sky with large white clouds, children and parents gathered on the lawn for summer games and picnic style refreshments. Sailboats and kayaks sailed by on the Northwest Arm.
The Sakyong and Sakyong Wangmo presided over an afternoon of play centered on the children. There were swings and slides; there was water play and a trampoline. Ms. Amanda Betzen, governess to the princesses, organized games, painting and chalk drawing.

Susan Williams of the Shambhala School led a treasure hunt. Clues were read and children ran in search of the next treasure each carrying a little trunk to hold their treasures. Jetsun Yudra who recently began walking, bounced here and there, beaming with happiness.
A delightful time was had by all!
