This winter took us to India (and Nepal), both north and south. First came the pilgrimage to the major sites marking the life of the Buddha: Bodhgaya, Sarnath, Kushinghar and Lumbini. Then, after stops in Kathmandu and Dharamsala, we dug our heels for a while in the tiny Himachali village of Bir to help with the international translators conference. The last month took us down south, first to the beaches of Goa and then further south to palm tree heaven to see my Hindu swami uncle and enjoy the relaxed and dignified state of Kerala.
An astounding, enchanting and formidable collection of color, sound, smell and feeling, the sensory brilliance of this trip to the subcontinent was impossible to capture in photographs, but it was also impossible not to try… Click on any photo below to view as a slide show.
