Entering Into the Year of the Wood Dragon
Shambhala Day was on Feb 10 this year and hundreds of people from around the world joined together at Shambhala Centres, Groups, and the homes of family and friends to watch the Shambhala Day Live Broadcast and welcome in the Year of the Wood Dragon. This 30-minute broadcast included an audio excerpt from the 1986 Shambhala Day address by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche—his last ever Shambhala Day address. This is a taste of his warm and cheerful address that final year:
Consider our contribution to our general world, our world around us. This particular world demands our contribution. This contribution means putting our efforts thoroughly and fully and not hoping that someone else will do it first so you can follow them…I think everybody knows what to do but they might be in a situation where they are hoping someone else will do the first move. And in this case, do not look around hoping that someone else will begin but you have to begin yourself, right away.
We are wishing you all a wonderful Wood Dragon Year ahead!
