Voices from the Latin American Kalapa Governance Gathering in ChileMore than 70 members and leaders of the Shambhala community in Latin America gathered in Santiago Chile this past weekend for the ninth Kalapa Governance Gathering. At the conclusion, they formed a large circle and spoke spontaneously about what they had learned, what they appreciated and what they were committing themselves to. At the end of each person’s statement, the entire gathering responded with ‘gracias” (thank you). We offer a selection of the dozens of personal statements, which created a spontaneous doha…
I discovered that you are all fantastic humans.
¡Gracias!
I appreciate everyone for being here.
¡Gracias!
I learned to rest in the community.
¡Gracias!
I learned that fear is part of the path. We discover fearlessness in ourselves.
¡Gracias!
I appreciate that I am part of an enlightened community.
¡Gracias!
I learned that working together like this helps us to grow as a community.
¡Gracias!
I learned that after everything, we like each other.
¡Gracias!
I learned to rouse confidence.
¡Gracias!
I learned methods for listening.
¡Gracias!
I learned that I can help by listening and just listening.
¡Gracias!
I discovered and learned that within our sangha we have a raw heart and that we can live with kindness.
¡Gracias!
I make a commitment to develop my kindness.
¡Gracias!
I learned that Acharya Fleet Maull can dance.
¡Gracias!
I appreciate the capacity we have in our sangha.
¡Gracias!
I learned to walk on the path of bravery.
¡Gracias!
I appreciate the vision of the Sakyong
¡Gracias!
I learned that we have everything we need to make the vision.
¡Gracias!
