The Sakyong and Sakyong Wangmo today announced the birth of their second child, a daughter named Jetsun Yudra. The birth took place at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax. Jetsun Drukmo was born at the same hospital in August 2010.
The full name of their new daughter is Jetsun Yudra Lhamo Yangchen Ziji Mukpo. It means Turquoise Princess Thunder Melodious Lady of Brilliance. She will be known as Jetsun Yudra (Turquoise Princess) for short.
The couple expressed their appreciation for the IWK staff and the care they received during the birth. “We were so touched by the warm-hearted care and the high standard of professionalism that characterizes everything about the IWK,” they said.
“This most recent Mukpo arrived like lightning,” said Dr Mitchell Levy, personal physician to the family. “The labour was short. The birth was healthy. The family is happy.”
A photo of Jetsun Yudra will be issued as soon as possible.
